Ute Valley Park loops
Rolling open space on the north side with a mix of easy valley trails and short, honest climbs — a good default for people living near Briargate and Rockrimmon.
The lower valley trails are wide and forgiving. If you want more, the ridge climbs are short but steep enough to make an ordinary walk feel like training.
Because it sits between neighborhoods, it works well as a before-work or after-work loop rather than a weekend expedition.
There is little shade on the ridges. In summer, go early or late and carry more water than feels necessary at 6,000-plus feet.
